1. A few years ago Senate Majority leader Trent Lott got into some trouble when he stated that homosexuality is a sin. Senator Lott and some other conservative senators oppose President Clinton’s choice for ambassador to Luxembourg, a pervert by the name of Hormel.
2. Interestingly, our Lord said that when He returns, it will be like "in the days of Lot." But He was not referring to Trent Lott, but another man named Lot – Lot, the nephew of Abraham.
3. The sin of Lot’s day, the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, was the big sin of today, the sin that is being promoted in the public schools, and on television and in the movies and it is being promoted by the politicians – I am talking about the sin of homosexuality.
4. This detestable sin has resulted in the AIDS epidemic. Today the liberal churches are even performing homo marriages. Homosexual couples are allowed now to adopt children. How any sane person can defend this type of behaviour is more than I can understand. Homosexuals molest young boys and ruin them for life. There is even a group called "NAMBLA," that lobbies for this. They want the age of consent laws removed so they can be free to continue to sodomize young boys without fear of getting arrested.
5. Today, I would like for us to open our Bibles and see what the Lord Jesus Christ meant when He said that when He returns to earth it will be very similar to "the days of Lot" (Luke 17:28-30).

I. THE BIBLE CLEARLY CONDEMNS THE SIN OF HOMOSEXUALITY.

1. To find out what it was like in the days of Lot, you have to go back to the book of Genesis (cf. Gen.13:10-13).
2. I would like to draw your attention to three words in Genesis 13 – "wicked…sinners…exceedingly."

1. "Wicked" means they were evil, lawless, and devilish.
2. "Sinners" means they broke God’s law. Homosexuality is against the laws of God and the laws of nature. Wicked men like Bill Clinton and Rudolf Guiliani can pass laws promoting homosexuality but God’s law condemns it (cf. Lev.18:22; 20:13; Deut.23:17,18).
3. "Exceedingly" – sodomites are exceedingly wicked and exceedingly evil and exceedingly sinful. Their filthiness knows no limits. For example, some perverted degenerate by the name of Terrence McNally is putting together a play called "Corpus Christi," that is about a homosexual named Joshua, that is obviously based on our Lord. This Joshua has perverted relations with all of his twelve "apostles," but his favorite fag is Judas. Pontius Pilate asks him, "Art thou the king of the queers?" and he replies: "Thou sayest."

3. How disgusting can these sodomites get? How blasphemous? To what level will they sink? And how far will Rudy Guiliani and George Pataki and Al D’Amato and all these other queer-loving politicians go in their support of these detestable deviates?
4. And by the way, our tax money is supporting this filth. The theater group which is putting on the play just received a grant for $125,000 from the National Endowment of the Arts.
5. A friend of mine video-taped one of the so-called "gay pride parades" in Manhattan. He said it was the most disgusting thing imaginable. Ray Kerrison of the NY Post described it this way: "…celebrations of perversion, and displays of unimaginable vulgarity…lewdness, nudity, profanity and blasphemy…violent anti-Christian themes."
6. As a matter of fact, it is obvious that one of the marks of homosexuality is hostility towards God, the Bible, and the church. Personally, I think the antichrist himself will be a homosexual (cf. Dan. 11:37).
7. Getting back to our text, our Lord said the last days before He returns will be similar to the days of Lot. And to understand what He meant by that we have to study the book of Genesis. Notice that God said the sin of the Sodomites was "very grievous" (Gen.18:20).
8. The world calls it "gay" or a "sexual preference" or "a domestic partnership" but God calls it "very grievous" and God calls it an "abomination." "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Lev.18:22).
9. "Abomination" means something extremely disgusting or hateful. God instructed the Israelites to have them put to death because their sin was so terribly vile (cf. I Kings 14:24; 15:11,12; 22:46; II Kings 23:7).
10. The N.T. also condemns this detestable sin (Rom.1:24-28; I Tim.1:8-10).
11. Before I proceed any further, I believe there is hope for the sodomite (I Cor.6:9-11).

II. SODOM & GOMORRAH WAS VERY MUCH LIKE NYC.

1. The disgusting Sodomites banging on Lot’s door are very similar to the filthy perverts hanging around the homo bars and nightclubs right here in NYC (Gen.19:4-7).
2. Their horrible sin brought down the wrath of God (Gen.19:8-13,24-29). Most Americans are so proud and spiritually blind that they think they can escape the judgment of God – they cannot!
3. Those wicked cities are buried today underneath the Dead Sea – the lowest point in all the world (Gen.19:25). The same fate awaits America.
4. I want to thank Bro. Graf for sending me a package of information. Frankly, it is very depressing! Listen to this: "80% of the homosexuals that have been court-martialed for sexual misconduct in the past four years had engaged in sexual assaults. Of these 102 assault cases, nearly half involved the molestation of children…The top six serial killers in America have been homosexuals. The list includes John Gacy, who raped and murdered hundreds of boys and then buried them under his house, and Jeffrey Dahmer, who not only raped and killed his victims, but ate them as well. Truly, homosexuality is Satanic.

III. THERE ARE STARTLING CONTRASTS BETWEEN LOT’S DAY AND OURS.

1. Homosexuality was rampant then and it is rampant today. It is incredible when you stop and consider the power of the homosexuals. I read recently that the football player Reggie White was offered a nice job by CBS. That was until he gave a speech and said that homosexuality was a sin. Then the sodomites put on the pressure and CBS changed their mind!
2. By the way, perhaps you do not watch TV (I don’t), but are you aware that there are scores of homosexual characters on prime-time TV now and they are portrayed as normal people?
3. Most worldly church members are like Lot. It is hard to believe Lot was a saved man but he was (cf. II Peter 2:4-9).
4. Many of the women in our churches today are like Lot’s wife – they love this wicked world and they really don’t love God (Gen.19:26; cf. Luke 17:32). A lot of women today do not want to obey God. They will not submit to their husbands. They watch all sorts of trash on TV. They listen to rock music. They wear pants and short skirts. Many even cut their hair real short like a man’s.
5. Most of the radio preachers today are worse than Lot. I was driving in my car and was listening to this station. The talk show host was Michael Medved. He is not a Christian. He is an Orthodox Jew who rejects Jesus Christ and is featured on a so-called Christian station. Here is my point: Mr. Medved made some (good, true) statements concerning the homosexual movement. He was not caustic nor unfair. A radio listener, who apparently listens to Medved’s show regularly called up to complain that Mr. Medved was wrong to say anything uncomplimentary about the homosexuals. He called Medved some names and even compared him to the Nazis (by the way, many of the Nazis were homosexuals, a fact that Medved pointed out to the caller). Medved could not reason with the man because he was a rather stupid oaf. But what really struck me was when the man said that he listened to WMCA all day long every day and NEVER HEARD ANYONE PREACH AGAINST ONLY HOMOSEXUALITY – ONLY MICHAEL MEDVED (an unsaved, Orthodox Jew). That radio listener’s comment speaks volumes about the horrible condition of Christendom today.

CONCLUSION:

1. Friends, let me remind you that the sodomites in Lot’s day were destroyed eternally (Gen.19:25-29; cf. Jude 7 notice – "suffering the vengeance of eternal fire").
2. We need to take our stand for what is right – not for what is "politically correct." We need to follow the Bible – not the phony politicians or the TV producers or the religious apostates or other lost souls.
3. One day, a sodomite said to me that he liked the liberal churches in Manhattan because they accepted homosexuality. I told him that they were just leading him and his friends down the path to hell.
